“Don’t speed; you don’t want a ticket on the way.”

  Apparently, they’d forgotten he was a sheriff, too. Not that he would speed… much. “You ready for this, Mrs. Kincaid?”

  Biting her bottom lip, she nodded. “Yeah. Mostly.”

  He opened the door to his truck and helped her up inside. “I’ll be at your side the entire time.”

  “I know.” She blew out another breath. “How about Oliver?”

  “Oliver Kincaid.” He smiled. “I love it.”

  “I love you.”

  “I love you, too.” Archer kissed her hand, even as his heart raced and began to pound against his chest like a battering ram. “I cannot wait to meet Oliver.”

  “Me, either.” She made a face. “Now, get me to the hospital, sheriff.”

  “Yes, ma’am.”
